Sometimes, it’s nice to just have a date night in. Husband and I don’t have any kids right now, so we can stay inside and it still feels like a date. Having a game night just the two of us or with a few friends is a really great way to have some cheap fun. We are constantly on the search for games that just the two of us can play since we love having game nights. Here are a few of our favourite date night games.
Y’all, I did long distance for 3 years, I have gone between living in Canada and the US. Currently, I live in New Mexico, my in-laws are in California, and my parents are in Canada. I have flown a lot.
In 2 days, I’ll be on a plane to go back to Canada, for a wedding and some family time. I don’t even think it’s hit me that I’m going back to my “Motherland.”
Obviously, it can be daunting to pack for a big trip. Females want to pack an outfit for every day and have it all planned out. They pack too many clothes, really too much of everything, and they are forced to pay for their luggage.
Anyone else out there have the back to school blues?
Usually, by the time that August/September comes around, I’m ready to start school. I’m excited to get back into it. All of that is usually squashed the first day of school, but at least before school starts, I’m excited.
This year, I’m not feeling it. I’m dreading going to my classes and all of the reading that I’m going to have to do. I do all of my school online so I read a lot. All of my classes are primarily reading. What the heck. And I even like reading, but every day I reach a point where I just can’t read anymore and I’ll be reading the words and comprehending nothing.
Sometimes, I just feel… happy! And I’m not going to apologise for it. I like to consider myself a pretty happy person. My husband will attest to the fact that when I get excited,
I get very excited.
As summer is fixing to wrap up, I thought I would compile a list of the best parts of summer, and enjoy them as much as I can before this season comes to a close.
There are different things that will trigger this happiness inside of me. If I’m having a bad day, or even just a mediocre day, some of these things will just brighten up my life. And I hope that some of these things brighten up your day or give you ideas for what brings happiness to your life!
On our very worst days, I will look at my husband and ask him “What are you thankful for?”
This is to give us perspective. We have so many things to be thankful for, yet I often find myself focusing on the negative. Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned and it seems like everything is falling apart but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have positive aspects of our lives. When we change our perspective and see some of the positive aspects of our lives, the negative things don’t seem so bad.
In my mind, I always had a list of things that I wanted to do, but when I set out to write out what my bucket list actually looked like, it was a lot harder than I realized! Sure, there’s a lot of places that I want to visit, but I thought, “Surely my whole bucket list isn’t just places!”
To be totally honest, I google’d others bucket lists to get inspiration and I’m so glad that I did. There are so many good ideas out there that I wouldn’t have thought of. Of course, I want to ride in a hot air balloon, but I never would’ve thought of that!

New Mexico has many wonderful aspects that I love. But when you move from California, a whole state devoted to recycling and being green, it seems strange to throw a water bottle in the trash.
It was so apparent when we moved. People here just do not put the same priority on recycling and being green. And that’s ok! But for me, I still want to make it a priority. It’s so easy to make it a priority when everyone around you puts such a high importance on it, but when they don’t, you have to motivate yourself. So here are the things that I do in order to still be green.
I had barely gone to any garage sales before a couple weeks ago. I never grew up going to garage sales, and every time that I had gone in the past, I never found it that exciting. Most of the time it was just junk, and I always thought, if they don’t want their junk why would I want it?
Then everything changed.
We moved to New Mexico a little bit ago, and are in the process of creating some really awesome friendships. Husband sometimes has to work weekends, so I have some friends that invited me to go garage saling with them. (Yes, I know that saling isn’t a word, but it feels like it should be so I’m going to continue to use it).

The word summer just sounds happy, doesn’t it?
It should be a joyous time of freedom from the mundane into a new normal.
But…. sometimes I find myself enjoying that “freedom” by sitting in front of the TV and computer for endless hours and doing absolutely nothing

I, like most white girls, are addicted to coffee. In the summer I feel like I need an iced coffee every single day. If you don’t have iced coffee that day, is it even a summer day?
In Canada, there is this magical place called Tim Horton’s. Growing up, I went there at least once a week. I say at least because that is the very least that we went there. When I was home with my family on any given evening we would probably go to Tim Horton’s, every Saturday we would go there for lunch, on Sunday we went to the Wendy’s Tim Horton’s restaurant. We went there A TON! Other than the people, Tim Horton’s is the part of Canada that I miss the most.
