I shouldn’t have to convince you that being healthy is important. It’s EVERYWHERE.
“Eat more kale, it’s a superfood!”
“You should exercise more.”
“More running won’t kill you.” (You don’t know that, running could kill me and I’m not willing to risk it!)
There are a few things that I try to do to be healthy, even though I can be extremely lazy.
Keep a Bottle of Water with You Always
I don’t know where I stand on the debate of whether your supposed to drink 8 cups of water a day, but all I know is that you’re supposed to drink water. The easiest way to drink the most water is to have a water bottle close by you at all times. I have a Contigo water bottle near me at home almost all the time (except when I forget). I don’t have to consciously remember “Ok, I need drink water today,” I just know that I’ll have water near me whenever I feel like it. I don’t even think about it anymore, whenever I get set up at my desk or relax to watch TV, I always have a water bottle with me.
Take the Stairs
There are easy ways to get exercise in without going to the gym. The “lazy” way to get some extra steps in is to take the stairs. It sucks but just do it.
Make Goals Like Always Having Vegetables with Your Supper
My mom was/is really good at this, but I am so bad at it. I have to remind myself constantly to remember to make vegetables. Husband and I have a great debate about whether cooked or raw vegetables are better. #RawVeggiesForLife.
Set a Bed Time and a Wake Up Time (Be Consistent)
There’s an app for that. Set a reminder on your phone of when you want to go to bed and when you wake up. I’ve done this in the past and it’s helped me a lot, but I’ve gotten out of the habit. I preaching to myself here, go to bed on time!!
If You’re Tired, Go to Bed
It’s this weird, novel concept. Don’t stay up binge watching Netflix, or stay up late reading a book, but just GO TO BED. I didn’t realize how much I did this until my Mom came to visit me when my Husband left. She was tired, so she would go to bed. Crazy, right? So I try to follow in her footsteps. It almost takes a lot of self control to force myself to stay up because I love being awake at night, but I have to realize that it will only hurt me in the morning.
